Serendipity

Ever had one of those moments where life just leads you? You bump into an old friend who introduces you to your future business partner. You picked up a random book, and it inspired the business idea you’re pursuing now. For me, that’s serendipity: the universe’s way of winking at you when you least expect it:

I met a prospect sitting next to me on an airplane. One of my most inspiring clients, I met on a beach. And my dogsitters? They turned out to be a branding specialist and a web designer. They helped me over the threshold to start weconnect.business, with advice, tools, and practical support. These were all private meetings that turned into business opportunities. For me, business and private life intertwine; they’re not separate

How to invite more serendipity into your life

It’s about staying open to the detours and the people or ideas that show up out of nowhere. Think of it like this: You can’t force a sunset, but you can make sure you’re outside to see it.

  1. Say “yes” more often
That workshop your friend invited you to? Go. The random LinkedIn message from someone in your industry? Reply. If it feels ok.

  2. Get lost
Take a different route to work. Strike up a conversation with a stranger. Wander through a bookstore without a shopping list. The best discoveries often happen when you’re not looking for them.

  3. Share your ideas
You never know who’s listening or who might connect the dots for you. That offhand comment about your business? It could lead to your next big opportunity.

  4. Embrace that life goes how it goes
Not every path is straight. Sometimes the wrong turn, the failed project, or the rejected proposal leads you exactly where you need to be.

Serendipity isn’t about luck. It’s about showing up, staying curious, and letting life surprise you.

What’s the most serendipitous thing that’s ever happened to you?
